DEPUTY FIRST MINISTER PRAISES INFECTION CONTROL EVENT

Nicola Sturgeon Nicola Sturgeon, Scotland's Deputy First Minister has said she finds events like Infection Control Scotland "really, really important". She said they were a must for civil servants to share good practice and help prepare them for the challenges ahead.

Following her keynote presentation to the event, where she discussed how Scotland faced the challenge of infection control and the nation's successes in that area, Sturgeon was keen to praise the event.

She said: "I think that events like [Infection Control Scotland] are really, really important, because they provide an opportunity to bring a range of professionals together and they also provide the opportunity for those professionals to exchange good practice, to discuss and exchange ideas and hopefully to leave at the end of the day with an even better sense of how collectively we go about facing up to the challenge we are here to discuss."
